How does the Music Experience program work?

Two turn into one. In the past, two programs were needed to best cater to different types of music listening situations. Now, the new Music Experience program does it all in one dedicated solution. It pairs Hybrid Sound Processing™ with an algorithm specifically designed for music to cater to live, played, recorded and streamed music alike.

  • Red icon representing the music specific algorithm in the Bernafon Alpha hearing aids Music Experience program

The music algorithm uses an independent compression scheme to amplify the broader frequency and dynamic range of music sounds. It accommodates various music listening situations. All types of music are amplified more transparently for an accurate sound reproduction.

  • Icon representing Hybrid Sound Processing, one of four main features of Bernafon's Hybrid Technology

Hybrid Sound Processing™ optimally processes music with high precision and in real-time, based on up to 48,000 signal estimations per second.

Together they cater to the fast-changing dynamics of music. Read our Topics in Amplification (TiA) or visit our resource center to access further information about Music Experience.

The dynamics of music

Music is different from speech. Its spectrum is more variable with higher peaks and a broader frequency range. Amplification based on a speech spectrum will not do it justice by limiting the output and causing distortions.

As early as 2010, Bernafon was among the first in the industry to release technology that specifically addressed the dynamics of music. With Alpha's Music Experience, Bernafon has taken the next step towards rich music enjoyment.

Why is music important?

Research indicates that music has the power to affect people’s wellbeing. It creates a certain atmosphere and influences the listeners' emotions. Music can trigger memories of the past and help people to relax. Studies show the positive effects of music through:

  • Nicely dressed audience in a theater with woman wearing Bernafon Alpha hearing aids, applauds the classical music concert

    ... boosting the listener's mood 1

  • Older couple dancing and laughing at home while enjoying the Music Experience of Bernafon Alpha rechargeable hearing aids

    ... reducing stress 2

  • Older man wearing Bernafon Alpha rechargeable hearing aids is taking guitar lessons from a younger teacher

... and stimulating the memory. 3
